Tor Bramble Has A Secret Book/Author Coming Out in Spring/Summer 2025...and I Have a Theory
Every so often, I peruse upcoming releases to see what I may be interested in preordering or putting on my radar for purchase or possible book box books. I did that recently, and noticed a curious offering from a romantasy publisher, Bramble.
Bramble is the new romance imprint from Tor, which you bookish folk may know by books recently published such as The Spellshop, The Coven, and The Stars Are Dying.
Well, Bramble has a new book up for preorder titled Spring/Summer 2025 Bramble Title To Be Announced by—get this—Spring/Summer 2025 Bramble Author To Be Announced, and it's titled and authored that way EVERYWHERE. I think maybe they've caught on to how spoilery the book world has gotten now, hmm?
For reference, the publisher site has this link up with the book deets, including an ISBN of 9781250367815. I entered the ISBN into a search engine—all the book seller sites have the same exact details (even some book sites from other countries, such as Germany and Japan).
Goodreads has a listing for it as well...same deal.
BTW, I did check StoryGraph, and they have nothing for that ISBN on the site:
So who could this mystery author be?
Carissa Broadbent
Current Bramble author Carissa Broadbent is my theory for who will fit the bill. Bramble scooped up all of the books Broadbent wrote in the Crowns of Nyaxia universe, with the two main duologies, The Nightborn Duet and The Shadowborn Duet, the novella, Six Scorched Roses, and the standalone novel, Slaying the Vampire Conqueror. While this sounds like a ton of books to put out in such a short amount of time, it should be noted that most of these titles are all backlist signings, which means they've already been written and published. All except, of course, the second book in the Shadowborn Duet.
The announcement from Tor UK details all six of the Broadbent books Bramble acquired. So far, Bramble has titled all but one of them, which I think will be the final offering in the Nyaxia universe (that we know of). Bramble's page for the duology has the details for the first book as well, with a statement at the bottom of the web page, "Shadowborn Duet Book 2 announcement coming soon!" Based on all this information, and the fact that the print run numbers line up with previous installments published, the most likely candidate for this mystery book (at least in my estimation) is Broadbent's final book in The Shadowborn Duet.
What do you think? If you disagree, what are some other authors you think could be contenders for Bramble's mysterious upcoming 2025 release?
I'm impressed! and you're right about the author, the title has yet to be made public yet!
